Swan Song

Nah, I'm not giving this up - just in a blackish mood & struggling to find even some music to enjoy... so I finally got round to replacing the slightly odd photo at the top, which I really liked, but it doesn't work too well here.

A frighteningly obvious song choice to err 'celebrate' this change of appearance.

Swan Song - Bee Gees
Idea (1968)

The belief that mute swans don't make any sound 'til just before death, is an engaging idea - but totally untrue; if I were a mute swan I'd ask to be renamed at once. They actually chatter away to each other a whole lot, especially breeding pairs : so there! - you've had music, a photo and some education - easily your 10p worth.

The silver Swan, who living had no Note,
when Death approached, unlocked her silent throat.
Leaning her breast against the reedy shore,
thus sang her first and last, and sang no more:
"Farewell, all joys! O Death, come close mine eyes!
"More Geese than Swans now live, more Fools than Wise.
